there he was on the street preaching to a man.
i knew that stance so well, publication in hand, leaning in towards to hopefully interested person and telling your story.
I'm "still in" physically, so I do go out to FS (though declining) after learning new stuff about the WTBS...I have to drag myself to go out there. Although the door-to-door is the primary method used by JW's, that method is no longer practical I think.

Welcome to JWN...moving away from your home congregation and trying to stay low elsewhere is a great way to start fading...ofcourse your folks back home will make sure that your still doing "spiritual things" ect...it's also quite possible that some of the members of both congregation know each other...this is where it can get tricky...keep us posted!

You're correct...at times, people do pretend that they're JW's to carry out certain acts....hopefully justice will be served regardless of this guy being a JW or not.

i have been on this site daily, almost from its beginning, since i left the jws in 2001, but i have been more of a reader than a poster, as you can see from my post count.
i know few here know me, although i know many of you through reading your posts.
maybe it is not right to ask for support, when i generally stay quietly in the background of this forum, but i want only to speak a human misery of the deepest kind.
This is an unfortunate event...I hope you'll find some inner peace during these difficult times.

my dad recently found out i wasn't coming to meetings and going out in field service.
he found an excuse to get me alone in his car and just lit into me about it.
he said that if i'm not going out in service that i'm not one of jehovah's witnesses and the brothers won't be able to trust me when the time comes to go undercover due to being attacked by the authorities.
@thecrushed: how did your dad find out you weren't keeping up with "spiritual" activities...if you don't mind me asking?
as some of you who read my previous thread know, my matrix moment has passed, and i am on my way out.
i am trying very hard to fade slowly in hopes that my wife will wake up, and maybe my family too.
the problem is, my conscience still works well, and i don't want to go out in if service and tell people things that i know aren't true.
I'm having this problem too...it's really hard to go out and tell people things that aren't truthful...
@OTWO: I wish my posting here could count as time...that would make life much easier for me. I'm still brain-storming how to get in sufficient time without doing much actual preaching.
it's only a couple of years away now and what a headache it must present to the gb - providing they have given it much thought already.
there probably is no elegant way of presenting the hundred year long failure of the end to come; the fact that the "short period of time" of satan being cast down to the earth has now stretched beyond any credibility.
but they have to deal with it one way or another.
I doubt there'll be any mention of it...just the same mention of doing more, no college ect....and most of the JW's won't even think of questioning the date, although they thought they'd be in the "new system" by now.

i'm kind of freaking out because i'm getting all four of my wisdom teeth pulled in a few weeks.
two of them are completely impacted, and one is partially impacted.
fortunately, they're not oddly aligned.
I had mine pulled a year ago...I didn't feel anything...my dentist did a great job although I'm not a fan of going the dentist.
if you've been to the meeting when the letter was read, what was jw reaction????
just curious if it was just another sign that the end is nearer or did any wake up for a second to realize the corporation is downsizing due to costs..
Thanks to this site I knew beforehand about this special announcement...after the meeting, when the announcement was made, a group of the 'brothers' were saying how Jehovah is really speeding up things in the 'end' and moving his organization forward.
I'm really amazed at the little things they keep so secretive as if it's going to have some huge impact. Although there is one of the 'liberal' brothers who joked about the fact that he won't have as much reading to do...
